Camp Standing Order
1. Attire
i) Uniform Regulations
Beret ( Black ) - Cap badge to be placed above the left eyebrow. Beret is to be worn for half uniform in an outdoor environment. It is only taken off while indoor or under shelter. When not in use, it should be properly folded and put in the left pocket of the pants. The Cap badge should always represent the level of first aid that the cadet has passed ( eg. Basic First Aid or Adult First Aid ). The beret cannot be dropped or put on the floor. It is a sign of disrespect to corps as it bears the crest of St. John and punishment will be meted out.
Shirt ( SJAB/ GESS PE T-shirt ONLY ) - Tucked in NEATLY and FULLY, NO rolling/folding of sleeves
Name tag ( Black, with white letters ) - To sit on the right chest pocket
Pants ( Black ) - 1 back pocket on the right ( no button or flap ), center line on pants to be visible, length to be sufficiently covering hind of boots and not sweeping the ground
Belt - St John belt, well-polished ( Shining, not rusting or corroded ), Metal tip to be placed after the first belt loop
Socks- ( Black ) - Plain ( no logo ), no ankle socks, socks should be 3 fingers above the ankle bone.
Other –
No wearing of school shoes or other kinds of footwear while in half uniform.
Uniform should always be handled with respect. Any part of the uniform should be not be seen lying on the ground at any point of time unless instructed.
ii) PT kit
Any SJAB related or GESS PE T-shirt with GESS PE shorts or Dark Coloured Shorts (Minimum length: just above kneecap; NO butterfly split shorts). Black socks with proper running shoes without striking colours or school shoes.
iii) Hair
No dyed Hair.
Ambulance: Hair length should be above the collar, fringe length should not be over the eyebrow, shaven sideburns.
Nursing: Hair should be bun-ed up neatly with no “cockroach feelers’’. Look neat at all times.
iv) Other items
No unauthorised ornaments or emblems are to be worn with the uniform unless it is of religious significance. Jewellery is not to be worn. No watches to be worn.

3. Whistle Commands
1 short blow - Echo for ALL Leaders
2 short blows - Echo for FAC Team Leaders
3 short blows - Echo for entire camp to fall-in
1 long blow - Echo Fire Drill (Emergency Drill)
4. Reporting Procedure
Campers are to follow a fix set of reporting procedure when reporting or asked to report to instructors or officers/cadet inspectors.
Action Taken By
Form up in 1 line Leader to stand in front of the group. Leader
Either Leader will give the command for the section to come to attention. Leader
Leader will greet the instructor/s and say “*Group/Team name* reporting, roll call begin.’ Leader
The camper at the end will start the roll call (1..2..3..) and down the line ending at the Leader Individual member of the Section
Leader will then report the total strength, current strength, number of absentees and their reasons for absence. After which, he or she will ask for the permission to continue. Leader
When permission is granted, Leader/Assistant Leader will give the command for the section to be at ease. Leader
5. Roles and Responsibility
Leader
Leaders must know the movement of his/her group members and the group strength at all times.
Ensure that the group falls in orderly and on time.
Assist and co-operate with the Camp I/C at all times.
Always report any problems encountered to the Leader or Camp I/C then the officers upon job completion.
Check attendance each time when the campers fall in, then report to the Camp I/C when called.
Relay any information passed down or orders given to the group members without fail.
Ensure that all duties assigned to the group are being carried out.
Maintain discipline and foster teamwork among the group members.
Camp I/C
Report to the duty officer before the commencement of activity.
Check attendance each time the trainees fall in. Record strength of the camp and pass on information accurately to the next camp i/c.
Relay any information passed down or orders given to all the groups without fail.
Ensure that all duties assigned to the course are being carried out.
Foster teamwork and discipline within the course.
Ensure that all training premises are kept clean at all times.
Make sure that campers are not late at all times for any activity.
Bunk I/C
Account for all campers in the respective bunks at all time.
Ensure cleanliness and neatness of the bunk.
In charge of bunk key, return key to Logistic Officer after use.
Campers
Be involved in the camp with a positive attitude to learn and improve.
Put aside any other issues and focus on the camp.
Always bear in mind the 4 golden rules. No ABCD (No Argue, No Bargain, No Complain, No Demand)
Cooperate and work well with others. Take care of one another.
Show sense of urgency in things you do.
Be aware of own actions and always think before act.
6. Book-in/out during camp/ Movement in camp
Book-in/out during camp
Trainees are not allowed to leave their camp unless permission is granted.
Any campers who have to leave the camp for any reasons have to ask permission from Officers/Teacher-in-charge, once permission granted, before departure, report to Leader then then Leader will report to Camp i/c and Camp i/c to CCO.
Any campers who book in late are to report to Group i/c upon arrival, then Leader will report to Camp i/c and Camp i/c to CCO.
Movement in camp
All movements must be in groups of twos / threes, especially at night.
No ambulance campers should be found in Nursing bunking area and vice versa.
7. Code of conduct
No standing on one leg.
No leaning against the wall.
Do not put your hands into your pockets.
8. Emergency Procedure
When emergency arises, a standard reporting and operating procedure will be implemented; campers and instructors alike are to follow strictly to the procedure stated. At no time should anyone practice jump-of-command.

Campers – Leader – Camp i/c – Duty Officer – CCO - Teachers
Evacuation Procedure Leader are to lead individual group to form up at the Carpark Area behind Canteen/Arena (Follow instruction given) via the safest route
Lightning Alert Leader to lead individual group to the nearest shelter immediately
Anyone in breach of the above-mentioned rules and regulations will face punishment.
